Our Patented Pouring-Filtering-Riser (PFR) Basin boxes are light weight, DuraTech plastic containers which produce no-bake sand basins to help foundries in pouring and filtering their metals.  These no-bake pouring boxes come in many different sizes and shapes. They are used in greensand and flaskless molding. Each PFR box is designed around one or two different sizes of ceramic filters and can be used for different metals with or without filters. DUMP OUT STRIPS All our pouring basin are designed and built strong enough for pouring steel.  The bottom of each basin box is at least 1/2" or thicker, to install vents, to adapt them into blow-boxes.  They also have a 1/8" high dump out strip for easy demolding.

With some of our PFR boxes, the bottom opening can be enlarged or reduced by using interchangeable adapter rings.  Even different size breakoff notches can be produced.  The same box can also be turned into a straight pouring-riser-basin (no filter), or into a recessed breakoff riser basin -- with filter!

Our combination box #554 can be used with 3 different filters.  Used with a 5"x 5"x 1-1/2" high capacity ceramic filter, they produce up to 1500 lbs. of filtered steel.  The same filter in the 4"x4"x 1-1/2" size produces up to 1000 lbs. of steel. Using a 5-1/4"x 5-1/4"x 1-1/4" thick or 3/4" thick iron filter, will produce up to 2000 lbs. of Iron.

These boxes are the most useful, diversified and time-saving tools every foundry should have.  There are now 24 different sizes of Pouring, Filtering, Riser or Test-Bar basin boxes to choose from.

All our DuraTech plastic boxes are made from the same material, the toughest plastic available today and they will produce hundreds of thousand of no-bake sand basins for only pennies per basin!

How is all this possible?

Very simple: you make your own sand basin, and you thus will save time, shipping and handling costs.  We will supply the PFR basin box of your choice. For some special applications you might have to order a specially designed basin box,but for the most common sizes the basin boxes are in stock.

MOST Basins Outlets can be customized

Some PFR Basin Boxes may not have the desired pouring outlet for your application, and within limits can easily be changed on request.

Our two cavity combination boxes #'s 223, 317, 337 were specifically designed for two different sizes of ceramic filters. They are also available in 4 or 6 cavity boxes on special order.
